Not Just After-School Care — A Space to Be Seen, Heard, and Empowered
At the Ebony J Media Learning Center, we help students discover their voice, build confidence, and gain 21st-century skills through hands-on media programs, mentorship, and leadership development.
We’re not just another enrichment program — we’re a movement focused on visibility, identity, and giving young people the tools to own their stories.
Founded by MsEbonyJ — radio personality, confidence coach, and youth mentor — our Learning Center was created in response to one core problem: too many young people are silenced before they’re ever heard.
We’ve worked with schools, parents, and community organizations to help teens:
- Speak publicly with confidence
- Show up in creative spaces
- Learn podcasting, media, and digital storytelling
- Build emotional intelligence and self-belief
Now we’re taking that same mission in-house — providing consistent, supportive, and confidence-driven programming for youth in a space that feels safe, inspiring, and full of possibility.

Kimberly Bonds – CFO & Operations Lead
A financial strategist and community leader, Kimberly ensures our center runs with sustainability, access, and long-term impact in mind. She manages our grants, partnerships, and family engagement strategy.
To empower young people to speak boldly, create freely, and grow confidently through media, mentorship, and self-expression.
To see every student leave our program with real-world communication skills, creative leadership potential, and the self-confidence to show up and shine — in any room they enter.
- Confidence First — We build belief before we build skills
- Creativity is Power — We value originality, expression, and innovation
- Voice Matters — Every child has something worth saying
- Real-World Ready — We teach life skills, not just lesson plans
- Community Wins — Our students lift each other up
At Ebony J Media Learning Center, we’re not just reacting to youth needs — we’re building a future where their voices lead.
Our current and future goals include:
- ✅ Expand after-school and summer programming to serve more youth year-round
- ✅ Launch a teen-run podcast studio to showcase student voices on a global scale
- ✅ Provide 50+ scholarships per year through partnerships and community support
- ✅ Create a mobile media lab to bring our programs to schools and neighborhoods in need
- ✅ Develop an app-based learning platform so students can access mentorship anytime, anywhere
We believe that confidence and communication should be as prioritized as reading and math — and we’re on a mission to make that the norm in education.
